About
I am René Braakman.
My great dream is access to healthy food for everyone! I believe in a transformation that brings life and abundance and am convinced that the key lies in regenerative agriculture.
As a passionate business developer and consultant, I have over twenty-eight years of experience in the Agro and Food chain. I am eager to use my knowledge and skills to help you and your company make the transition to a sustainable future.
I come from a family of farmers and loved “green” all my life. As a child, you could find me in my father’s vegetable garden. Studying arable farming at CAH Dronten was a natural choice, complemented by horticulture studies at HAS Delft.
By nature, I am curious, enthusiastic, and I love to bring new ideas to life. Give me a problem, and I’ll look for a solution.
Together with my wife Karine, I live in Brabant, and we are the proud parents of three wonderful daughters. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening. I have my own vegetable garden where I delight in everything that grows and blooms. I love digging in the soil and experience what can work or what doesn’t work.
I am also active in a study group for Christian farmers and serve as a board member for a foundation that supports farmers in developing countries.
My work experience spans the Agro, Food, and Retail sectors—from a commercial-technical position at a laboratory to business development, project management, and consultancy at software development companies and advisory firms. I have extensive experience with ICT projects related to data and software development within these industries.
Beyond my knowledge of the Agro and Food sector, I have developed a strong network across the African continent over the past years. I gained experience pioneering and setting up projects from scratch.
As a board member of the Foundation “Foundations for Farming”, I established an agricultural training center with a local team in Uganda. Here, farmers are trained in Conservation Agriculture—also known as regenerative agriculture. It is astounding to see the impact these methods have on food production, soil quality, and the wider community. Looking back, this was where the first seed for Circles of Abundance was planted.
Over the years, that seed has grown into a clear vision: transformation of the entire Agro and Food chain based on regenerative agriculture. My business heart started beating faster and led to Circles of Abundance—a dream come true.

My dream
My dream is access to healthy food for everyone. I believe in a transformation that brings life and abundance and am convinced that the key lies in regenerative agriculture.
In 2017, I traveled to Africa for the first time at the invitation of a foundation to teach local farmers about vegetable cultivation. The training method was based on regenerative agriculture and inspired by biblical principles such as “You will reap what you sow.”
I saw with my own eyes the impact of regenerative agriculture—not only bringing soil and biodiversity to life but also boosting food production and yields. One of the female farmers who completed the training told me a year later that, since applying the principles, she could send two additional children from her family to school.
Since then, my greatest dream has been access to healthy food for everyone and communities that flourish. I am convinced the key lies in regenerative agriculture—farming that not only restores soil life and biodiversity but also gives farmers renewed hope. Where sound profit goes hand in hand with healthy soils, clean water, and pure air, allowing people to experience a healthy and abundant life.
From this passion, I use my knowledge and expertise to support the transition toward regenerative farming across the entire chain—from producers to consumers, from local farmers in Africa to major players in the Agro and Food sectors.
I believe in an integrated approach that combines spiritual inspiration with economic, ecological, and social renewal. Life and abundance for everyone!

My approach
With my knowledge of the chain, of data, measurement, and regenerative agriculture, I can help your company move step by step toward more sustainable production. I help you measure and market this added value throughout the chain. Moreover, I can build bridges between Europe and Africa.
I’m skilled at developing new business models. My passion is to create sustainable solutions for complex challenges. I don’t just come up with ideas—I ensure implementation and results. I can support value chain actors throughout the transition toward regenerative agriculture by connecting people, networks, production, and markets.
I always start with an intake to clarify your questions. Together we map out the challenges to create a clear picture of what is needed. Based on this intake, I develop a proposed approach outlining how, what, and when I will deliver.
Do you have questions about making your value chain more sustainable?
Do you want to monitor whether you’re achieving your reduction goals?
Would you like to develop new business models that are both profitable and contribute to sustainability and social prosperity?
I’d be glad to help! Schedule your intake meeting here.
