Circles of Abundance launched as an independent consultancy

René Braakman has launched the independent consultancy Circles of Abundance. Drawing from his many years of experience in the Agro and Food sector, he observes that the challenges in today’s Agro and Food chains call for a new approach.

Healthy food for everyone

René notes that the current “conventional” agricultural system worldwide still depends heavily on external inputs such as synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, which have a negative impact on soil, water, air quality, and climate. A transformation is needed toward a different agricultural system—one that is more nature-driven and creates positive impact.

This transformation should not focus solely on economic factors but also include ecological and social dimensions. To achieve this, a coherent and restorative approach is needed—regenerative agriculture and value chains that create positive impact.

Realizing this transformation requires systemic change from all actors in the chain, from farmers to consumers. Innovations and new business models are essential. Circles of Abundance supports players across the value chain in taking concrete steps toward this transition, helping companies become more future-proof—combining profitability with positive impact on soil, water, biodiversity, and community well-being.
